Dive into the exceptional with our unique combo diving tour that takes you through the captivating depths of the North Atlantic and into the intriguing fissure of Bjarnagja, blending salty and fresh water experiences like never before. This adventure is perfect for those eager to explore the underwater world in completely new ways.

Situated on the stunning Reykjanes peninsula, merely an hour's drive from the vibrant heart of downtown Reykjavik, both of our dive sites promise an unforgettable day beneath the surface. The exact order of your dives will be determined by the day's tidal movements and weather conditions, with our skilled guides making the call on which mesmerizing site to visit first just before your dive date.

Dive into the fascinating Bjarnagjá fissure, where the relentless forces of the Eurasian and North American continental plates converge, creating a spectacular 18 m deep lava ravine. This site, where Iceland itself rises majestically from the sea, offers a blend of mostly fresh groundwater influenced by the sea's salinity due to its proximity to the coast. Experienced divers will relish the opportunity to explore this overhead environment, made even more mysterious by a boat enigmatically situated at the fissure's bottom.

On your Ocean Dive Day Tour, immerse yourself in the chilly waters of the North Atlantic to swim alongside the diverse marine life that calls this part of the world home. Our premier local site, Garður, is a shore dive set in a vibrant kelp forest that provides a lush habitat for an array of marine species such as lumpsuckers, nudibranches, and a wealth of invertebrates. Be mesmerized by the colorful algae, flounders peeking from sandy ocean beds, and the occasional visit from a wolf fish that might just surprise you.

While we treasure our ocean dives, the Icelandic weather can sometimes be unpredictable, leading us to cancel trips. In such instances, alternate dive sites like Kleifarvatn, Davíðsgjá, or Silfra, which are less affected by weather conditions, will be offered as creative alternatives.

Your Diving Day Tour comprises two dives, each lasting about 30-40 minutes with a maximum depth of 18 meters. Whether you're driving yourself or opting for our pickup service from Reykjavik, we’ll ensure you have all the details for a seamless experience. Our guides will not only enrich your drive with fascinating insights into Iceland's unique geology and culture but also provide detailed briefings on each dive site and assist you with setting up our high-quality SCUBA equipment from BARE and Aqualung.

To cap off each exhilarating tour, we invite you to warm up with hot cocoa and cookies, creating the perfect end to an unforgettable diving experience. And if you're looking for the cherry on top, consider unwinding at the Blue Lagoon after your adventure, for which we can conveniently drop you off there if you’ve booked transportation with us.

Important Notes

Join us on an Ocean dive in the North Atlantic and a fissure dive in salty and fresh water in Bjarnagja for a unique diving combo. Both dive sites are situated in the Reykjanes peninsula, approximately an hour's drive from Reykjavik. The tour's structure depends on tides and weather conditions, and our experienced guides will determine the first dive spot shortly before your dive. The Bjarnagja fissure, an 18m deep lava ravine, lies at the edge of the Reykjanes peninsula, illustrating the continental drift theory where the Eurasian and North American plates meet. The water here is mostly fresh groundwater, slightly influenced by the sea's salinity, offering an overhead environment for those with appropriate training and experience. An intriguing addition to the dive site is a boat placed at the bottom of the fissure. During the Ocean Diver Day Tour, you'll swim with the North Atlantic's underwater life in Garður, a shore dive site, through a kelp forest home to lumpsuckers, nudibranchs, and a variety of invertebrates. Watch out for flounders in sandy patches and possibly encounter a wolf fish among the rocks. However, ocean dives in Iceland are weather-dependent and may be substituted with alternative sites like Kleifarvatn, Davíðsgjá, or Silfra if necessary. The Diving Day Tour includes two dives of 30-40 minutes each, up to 18 meters deep. Meeting locations vary with tides, and those opting for pick-up service will receive background information on Iceland's geology and culture from their guide. Dive equipment setup assistance and a briefing of each site will be provided, using high-quality gear. Post-tour perks include hot cocoa and cookies, with a recommendation to visit the Blue Lagoon after the tour, where transportation can be arranged for those with the transportation option.
