Silfra Snorkeling Adventure
Silfra is a fissure between the North American and Eurasian continental plates. Silfra constantly fills with glacial water that has been tricking through underground lava rock for 30 years. This remarkable crack between two tectonic plates is therefore filled with the clearest water on our planet, allowing for over 100 meters visibility.
Snorkeling Tour Experience
On the snorkeling tour we will dress you in a dry suit and guide you through the four parts of the Silfra fissure. Floating through Silfra's crystal clear water is an otherworldly experience; the near-freezing water, astonishing colors, and sensations of flying provide a very unique environment for liquid meditation that you will never forget.

- Silfra is a fissure located between the North American and Eurasian continental plates, filled with glacial water that has passed through underground lava rock for 30 years, making it one of the clearest waters on the planet with visibility over 100 meters.
- The snorkeling tour includes dressing in a dry suit and being guided through Silfras four distinct sections, offering an extraordinary underwater experience with near-freezing water, vibrant colors, and a sensation akin to flying.
- Participants must read, sign, and follow directions on the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement and sign our liability release form at the tour's start.
- Height requirements: participants must be a minimum of 150cm tall and a maximum of 200cm tall.
- Weight requirements: participants must be a minimum of 45kg and a maximum of 120kg.
- Age requirement: participants must be at least 12 years of age within the year of the tour.
- Participants must be comfortable in water, able to swim, physically fit, and ready to wear a sometimes tight and constricting dry suit.
- Communication in English is required, or a translator must be available at all times during the tour.
- Participants should not be pregnant.
