Silfra Fissure Adventure
Silfra is a fissure between the North American and Eurasian continental plates. Silfra constantly fills with glacial water that has been trickling through underground lava rock for 30 years. This remarkable crack between two tectonic plates is therefore filled with the clearest water on our planet, allowing for over 100 meters visibility.
Snorkeling Tour
On the snorkeling tour we will dress you in a dry suit and guide you through the four parts of the Silfra fissure. Floating through Silfras crystal clear water is an otherworldly experience; the near-freezing water, astonishing colors, and sensations of flying provide a very unique environment for liquid meditation that you will never forget. Snorkeling is a great group activity, whether bonding with your friends and family or teambuilding with your coworkers.
Group Bookings
We can accommodate up to 42 people at the same start time, with groups of 6 people going in to Silfra with each guide. The group can get dressed together and hang out after the tour with hot cocoa and cookies. If your groups consists of 20+ or more participants, book the tour here!

The tour caters to groups up to 42 with a starting time sequence, dividing them into groups of 6 per guide. After the tour, groups can enjoy hot cocoa and cookies together. For groups of 20 or more, a special booking process applies.
- Participants must read, sign, and follow directions on the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement
- Sign a liability release form at the start of the tour
- Meet physical requirements: min 150cm/max 200cm tall, min 45kg/max 120kg in weight
- Be at least 12 years of age within the year of the tour
- Be comfortable in water and capable of swimming
- Be physically fit and ready to wear a potentially tight & constricting dry suit
- Be able to communicate in English or have a translator available during the tour
- Not be pregnant
